I am trying to plan a 30th birthday dinner in Paris for my wife and a few of our family/friends (8 people total), and was hoping you might have a suggestion for a french bistro that isn't too fancy but would still be good for a fun, special occasion. Preferably near the 4th, 5th or 6th districts?

John, Larger groups are always a challenge in Paris, but you might consider Les Papilles or La Ferrandaise, both of which are reviewed in my book. Otherwise, bushels of bistro here under bistros in the index. Best, Alec
