And although it was fun to try a new place in Paris…I must admit my party was a bit disappointed too. The dorado was too salty, the st. jacques too dry and service lacking charm. My friend, who chose the place, was so disatisfied with the service that he left our server a note saying that he will only eat at the Ritz going forward…he did it more for effect (plus he is a regular guest there), but his point was they need to bring things up a notch still. The highlight of the meal though was seeing the chef :). P.S. I got your book on my Kindle before moving to Paris!!!

Not a good thing.

Still, I'd rather have the occasional flower or two than fluttering pieces of gold leaf or any of the other nutty things that are used to decorate food.

I love your comment about the flower on the beef terrine. I always wonder what is going through the minds of people that do stuff like that.
